If you aren’t familiar with record label Wall of Sound, then it’s likely you are familiar with a fair share of their artists. The Infadels, Les Rythmes Digitales (Stuart Price), The Bees, Royksopp & Zoot Woman are just a few of the extremely ‘now’ names on their roster.

A casual review of their website reveals a shocking lack of activity in the last year; the most ‘current’ item on their news page is the release of The Infadels’ ‘We Are The Infadels’ over a year ago.

Perhaps it’s that lack of output that has inspired their latest release, a compilation titled ‘Shock Rock’ (due out 19th Feb) which is accompanied by a small UK tour of some of the contributing artists including: Lo-Fi Fnk, The Infadels, Metronomy, Shy Child, Friendly Fires & one date (tonight) w/my favorite producer, remixer & DJ extraordinaire Mr. Paul Epworth.

As the cover image suggests, this is an attempt to capture the zeitgeist of the past few years – the marriage of indie & dance. Overall the compilation is more than satisfying, though the absence of LCD Soundsystem on something like this is a little baffling.
